 ABOUT MY PODCAST:

This Podcast is my Journalism Project on why violent crime is increasing in London despite the pandemic. This 44 minutes podcast will explore the root causes of the rise in knife and gun crime rates in London during the pandemic, and what could be done to tackle it.

Figures from the Office of National Statistics show overall crime rate is falling, but that of violent crime - gun and knife crime incidents, are increasing.

What are the figures telling us about the nature of violent crime in London?

Figures published by the Office of National Statistics show the overall crime rate is in decline in England and Wales since the beginning of the pandemic.

But knife crime is at its highest level in the past decade, with 46,000 offenses recorded in the year ending March 2020. The capital, London has also seen a rise in gun offences since the lockdown.

My interviewees explore the root causes of violent crime in London and suggest solutions to the London violent crime problem.  Follow the link below to listen to the full podcast.
